Awesome… sandwiches! The place is running since 1946 and you can see why. Amazing meat sandwiches like roast beef, tuna, I personally tried the pimento cheese sandwich was was nice. Even the fish filet. The sides have coffee, onion rings, fries as well served along with pickles. They have a small lunch buffet too. Overall a very nice restaurant and enjoyed the food. They take catering and party orders too!

Coming from NY, the bar is set pretty high for us in terms of burger joints. This is truly the closest thing to home we have discovered here in SC! The atmosphere is 100% on point! The staff are all very sweet and go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied, except they mixed up our plates/sides. The food, I would give a 6.5 - 7.0 out of 10, but the prices are on par with the food and given the atmosphere and homey feeling of this charming roadside spot, makes dining here an even greater value! A clean, homey, friendly place with decent food! If more attention to the condiments on the tables had been evident (most ketchups had barely any ketchup in them and the malt vinegar they brought had barely an ounce of vinegar left!), then I would have probably have rated this higher.

We had breakfast. Western omelet and eggs over easy. Grits and toast. All was good. Cashier was friendly and even bused our table (apparently guests normally bus their table). Lots of SC football pictures adorn the walls. Nice little place off the beaten path.

A fun breakfast or lunch place. It kind of replaced the similar place we left in Marietta, GA: Biscuits and More. Can't wait to bring my kids here who loved Biscuits and More.

First time here and it was great! Cool little locally owned spot, I think they've been around for something like 75 years!! Awesome. I got the western omelet with hash browns and a side of pancakes and it was exactly what I wanted. Pancakes were dense, I like em that way, flavorful and the omelet was just the right amount. I'll definitely check it out again; maybe french toast next time??!

We will never use this company @Mathias Sandwich Shop again! Blatant racism and stereotyping during our pick up! We have placed orders several times over the years. This is my husband’s recent experience 12.23.2023. #boycott ……………………………………………. They were an hour late on my food because they gave the fruit tray to someone else...I asked what can they do to prorate the cost because I have been there over an hour waiting for food they gave to someone else...the owner said they can't do anything about it....and I asked, there is nothing you can do for your customer which was your mistake...he goes and reached in his wallet and said, here is 20.00, I'm sure this is more than what you make an hour? I told him, "Please do not insult me and he will never get my business again, and he said fine....and walked away

This has to be one of the most underrated restaurants in the Columbia SC area!! Really good pimento cheese, great Burgers 🍔, really, really great fried chicken 🐔🍗!! And if you like chocolate 🍫🫕 brownies theirs are second to none!! I cannot wait to go back!!! love it!!

We have been coming to Mathis for years for our sandwich trays, we have never had a problem the sandwiches are always a hit at any family function. The people are so friendly and nice.
